1% Educational Sales Tax - Adding Sales Tax

Shall a one percent sales and use tax for educational purposes be imposed in the Jenkins County School District for a period of time not to exceed 20 consecutive calendar quarters and for the raising of not more than $5,000,000 for the purposes of adding to, renovating, improving, demolishing, furnishing, and equipping existing school district buildings and facilities; constructing and equipping new athletic facilities, including a new track; system-wide technology improvements; and acquiring new school equipment, including safety and security equipment? If imposition of the tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall also constitute approval of the insurance of general obligation debt of the Jenkins County School District in the principal amount of $4,000,000 for the above capital outlay purposes and for the payment of capitalized interest.
