Get StartedShall the limitation of the amount of taxes which may be levied on taxable property under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Luce County, Michigan be increased by .5 mills (50 cents per $1,000.00 of taxable value), for a period of three (3) years, 2020, 2021 and 2022, inclusive, as a new additional millage to provide funds to repurchase the property and the animal shelter building located at 7351 Co. Rd. 391, for one dollar ($1.00) and operate the County Facility for the purpose of improving the health, safety and welfare of the general public by preventing injuries and property damage, which may occur when dogs and cats run at large and not in the control of their owners, as required by Michigan Statute. It is estimated that a .5 mill would raise approximately $96,454.91 when first levied in 2020, which would be an estimated twenty dollars ($20.00) per year for an average home with a taxable value of forty thousand ($40,000.00) in the County.
