Charter Amendment 1 - Appointing Council Members

Section 2.04-Urban Council Delete the first sentence of Section 2.04, which currently states "Each year, the three Members of the Council residing within the Lynchburg Urban Services District who were elected to their offices by the largest popular votes shall constitute the Urban Council." Substituting in the place of the above, the following: Being the proposed first sentence of Section 2.04, to wit: "Each year, the Metropolitan Mayor shall appoint three persons residing within the Lynchburg Urban Service District to the Urban Council, which appointment shall be ratified by action of the Metropolitan Council."
