Commission on Aging Millage Renewal and Restoration Proposal -

For the sole purpose of continuing to provide funds for services to support older citizens sixty (60) years of age and older residing in Benzie County through Benzie County Commission on Aging Senior Services Programs, at the same millage level approved by the voters in 2017, shall the previously voted increase on the Constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be assessed in one (1) year upon all property within the County of Benzie County, Michigan be renewed and continued at 0.8448 of one (1) mill, and shall the previously authorized reduced millage of .0052 of one (1) mill be restored, for a return to the previously voted total limitation increase of 0.8500 mill ($0.85 per $1,000.00 taxable value), and be levied for a period of five (5) years (2020-2024), inclusive? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise an estimated $1,157,443.48 for services to older citizens sixty (60) years of age and older in Benzie County in the first calendar year of the levy based upon taxable value. In accordance with State law, a small portion of the millage may be captured by the City of Frankfort Downtown Development Authority and the Benzie County Brownfield Authority.
