Fallon County Ballot Issue 2 - Mill Levy

Shall the Board of County Commissioners of Fallon County, Montana (the "County"), be authorized to levy an additional two (2) mills per year for three (3) years for the Eastern Montana Economic Development Authority ("EMEDA"), to raise approximately $123,771 per year, so that EMEDA may make available or support childcare facilities and services? If this mill levy proposition passes, it is estimated that, using current assessed values of taxable property in the County, the property taxes on a home with an assessed market value for tax purposes of $100,000 would increase by $2.70 in the first year, of $300,000 would increase by $8.10 in the first year, and of $600,000 would increase by $16.20 in the first year. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs.
