Measure 18-136 - Three-year local tax option for park operations and maintenance.

Summary

The measure would authorize the district to levy funds for park and community center services and amenities at a rate of $.1769/$1,000 of assessed property value for three-years beginning 7/1/25. If approved, the levy would raise a projected $57,376.00 in FY 2025-2026 and $172,128.00 over three-years. The district provides/maintains facilities in Big Springs Park and Bonanza Community Center. Approval of the levy would meet current requirements for the general public and the vulnerable populations in the community such as those with disabilities and low-income individuals. If approved, the proposed levy would pay the following: Meet operation requirements assuring equipment, materials & services provide adequate public service for the community. Maintains staff to ensure sufficient personnel to operate park and community center services. Maintains local funds for matching federal and state grants. Assures maintenance of district facilities and timely replacement and upgrades of equipment, shelters, buildings, signs, technology, tables, and irrigation systems. Maintains local funds for the increase in costs of materials and supplies, as the district's permanent tax rate is not sufficient to sustain operations.
