Get StartedShall the limitation imposed by Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on the tax rate that may be levied by the County of Missaukee on taxable property in the County be increased by up to 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value), for a period of eight (8) years from 2022 through 2029, subject to reduction as provided by law. Revenue from the millage would be disbursed to the County of Missaukee for the purpose of operations and dispatch of the County Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and purchasing, maintaining, and financing equipment and facilities for EMS. This is a request for a new additional millage to replace revenue from a millage for the same purpose which will expire in 2021. It is estimated that this millage would raise an estimated $667,063 in the first year it is authorized and levied. To the extent required by law, a portion of this millage may be captured by the City of McBain Downtown Development Authority/Tax Increment Finance Authority.
