Petition #2 - Amendment to the Charter

To the Clerk of the City of Belleville: We, the undersigned qualified and registered electors, residents in the City of Belleville, County of Wayne, State of Michigan, respectively petition for a charter amendment to regulate Marihuana Establishments within the City of Belleville to: provide for a process, fees, and criteria for local approval of Marihuana Establishments within the City; increase revenue for the City through the excise tax on marihuana sales; benefit individuals disproportionately impacted by marihuana prohibition; create new jobs and investment within the City; and to require the Council of the City of Belleville to enact ordinances to authorize Marijuana Establishments within the City and carry out the provisions of this amendment. This amendment is to be voted on by the electors of the City of Belleville at the November 3, 2020 General Election
