Get StartedShall the Pondera County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy ten (10) additional mills on all taxable property within Pondera County to generate approximately $200,000, beginning with tax year 2024, for eight (8) years, for the purpose of supporting a County Public Safety Mill Levy to assist in the enforcement of crimes, including but not limited to: recruitment and retention; public safety; and school safety? This levy is not cumulative, which means the number of mills will not increase over time. This levy is in addition to any other mill levies authorized by Charter or law. The financial impact of the total of ten (10) additional mills on a home having a market value of $100,000 is estimated to be $13.50 each year of the levy, $40.50 for a home having a market value of $300,000 and $81.00 for a home having a market value of $600,000. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs.
