Proposal 1 - Public Safety Millage

For the purpose of constructing, equipping, and financing an addition, renovations, and site improvements to the Jackson County Jail, and for its ongoing operating expenses, shall the Constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be assessed in one (1) year upon all property within the County of Jackson, Michigan be increased by up to 0.90 mills ($0.90 per thousand dollars of state taxable valuation), for a period of twenty (20) years (2024-2043) inclusive? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise an estimated $5,230,000 in the first calendar year of the levy.
