Proposition 2 - One Percent (1%) Specific Purpose Sales and Use Tax for the Exclusive Purpose of Funding Specific Purposes

Shall Johnson County be authorized to impose an additional one percent (1%) specific purpose sales and use tax, within Johnson County, to be used for funding the planning, engineering,construction, remodeling, furnishing, equipping, supplying (including maintenance equipment), acquisition and improvement of land (if necessary) and, to the extent necessary and allowed by law, a pledge or payment of operation and maintenance, debt service, lease payments thereon and, if necessary and/or available, to be used to leverage or match federal and/or state grant funds, in the specified purposes provided below: Project (Proposition) 1: Two hundred fifty thousand dollars (250,000.00) for the planning, engineering, and construction related to the improvement of the driving surface of nolan road in the town of kaycee; Project (Proposition) 2: Five million seven hundred forty-eight thousand six hundred ninety-six dollars and seventy-one cents ($5,748,696.71) for planning, engineering, and construction related to the street reconstruction and paving, including curb and gutter, sidewalk, water main and sewer main, of the public street known as north burritt from fort street to mathers street in the city of Buffalo.
