Get StartedShall a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district of Houston County for a period of time not to exceed six years and for the raising of an estimated amount of $200,000,000 for the purpose of funding the following capital outlay projects in Transportation, Public Safety, Recreation, General Capital Obligations, Public Buildings, Water and Sewer System Improvements, Economic Development, and Debt Service. Transportation improvements include road, street, intersection, bridge, sidewalk and streetscape improvements in Unincorporated Houston County and the Cities of Centerville, Perry and Warner Robins. Public Safety improvements include: a) upgrades to Houston County's E911 technology system, b) the acquisition, construction, upgrade and equipping of public safety facilities in Unincorporated Houston County and the Cities of Centerville, Perry and Warner Robins and c) the acquisition of new public safety vehicles and equipment countywide. Recreation improvements include: a) the acquisition of recreational equipment and construction, renovations or upgrades to various other recreational facilities in Centerville, Perry and Warner Robins. General Capital Obligations include: a) the acquisition, construction, upgrade or renovation, and equipping of various public facilities owned by Centerville, Warner Robins and Unincorporated Houston County and b) acquisition of information technology equipment, administrative vehicles and heavy equipment for Unincorporated Houston County and the City of Warner Robins. Public Building improvements include: a) construction, upgrade, or renovation to public buildings. Water and Sewer improvements in Unincorporated Houston County, and the Cities of Centerville, Perry and Warner Robins include: a) building upgrades, b) extension and/or upgrades to water and sanitary sewer lines and c) heavy equipment and vehicles. Economic Development improvements include: a) infrastructure for existing industrial tracts, b) blight abatement in Unincorporated Houston County, c) property acquisition / demolition and infrastructure improvements in the City of Warner Robins.
