Question 1 - Pondera Regional Port Authority Mill Levy

Shall the Pondera County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy four (4) additional mills on all taxable property within Pondera County to generate approximately $82,000, beginning tax year 2025, for ten (10) years, for the purpose of funding the operations of the Pondera County Regional Port Authority? This levy is not cumulative, which means the number of mills will not increase over time. This levy is in addition to any other mill levies authorized by Charter or law. The financial impact of the total of four (4) additional mills on a home having a market value of $100,000 is estimated to be $5.40 each year of the levy, $16.20 for a home having a market value of $300,000 and $32.40 for a home having a market value of $600,000. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs.
