Shall the County of Lapeer be authorized to levy a new additional millage in an amount of 0.085 mills ($0.085 for each $1,000.00 of taxable value) against all property in Lapeer County for a period of 4 years, from 2020 through 2023, inclusive, to provide support for the Lapeer County Department of Veterans Affairs? This proposed millage is in addition to the 0.10 mills previously approved by voters to support the Department of Veterans Affairs for the period 2018 through 2023. If approved, the new total millage rate for the Lapeer County Department of Veteran’s Affairs would be 0.185 mills ($0.185 for each $1,000.00 of taxable value) for the 4 years commencing in 2020 through 2023, inclusive. It is estimated that the additional millage would raise approximately $261,217.92 in 2021. The total estimated amount raised in 2021 under the additional millage and the previous millage would be $565,208.36.
