Get StartedUniversal Basic Income : or U.B.I., is a fixed income that every adult, no matter who you are or where you’re from, would receive from the government. As we’ve seen from COVID-19, having a system that provides a fiscal foundation to people keeps a society more able to cope with unseen circumstances. We also know, we can afford it if we have political leaders pushing for change. And as our workforce becomes more and more automated, the need for UBI will only grow. Learn more
Teachers are American heroes, and should be paid accordingly. I support raising teachers’ salaries to at least $60,000 per year, and I unequivocally support teachers’ collective bargaining rights. Learn more
Our public education system is not working for low-income communities and communities of color. I will fight to end the school-to-prison pipeline by ending zero-tolerance discipline policies. I’ll also work to allocate federal resources into HBCU and HSI teacher training programs, increasing diversity in our country’s educators. I will bring what I’ve learned in Holyoke to Washington, pushing for dual-language programs and deeper cultural education. Learn more
High-quality pre-K is directly linked to long term outcomes like high school graduation and income levels. We must work to implement universal pre-K that ensures a national standard for high-quality child care and caters to the needs of local communities. Learn more
Every single student deserves the right to go to college or vocational school. I support free public colleges, universities, and vocational programs. Moreover, I support the cancellation of all student loan debt. Learn more
A Green New Deal must leave no one behind. Let us train and empower those currently employed in the fossil fuel industry and those communities most affected by that industry to find solid, dignified jobs in our new economy, including right here in MA-1. Learn more
We can no longer stand by while corporate polluters and fossil fuel executives knowingly endanger the planet. It’s time to end fossil fuel subsidies, implement equitable carbon pricing, and take legal steps to limit companies’ ability to wreak havoc on the climate. Learn more
The science is clear – we have ten years to avoid the worst effects of the climate crisis. We must fully and rapidly transition to a 100% clean and renewable energy economy. Let us summon the best of our skills and energies to get this done, investing in green energy like wind, solar, and geothermal, and fully electrifying all modes of transportation. Learn more
After a phased transition to a single-payer system, every person living in the United States would be covered and able to access the medical care they need when they need it – and from the doctors they choose. Such coverage would include: hospital and outpatient services, dental, vision, women’s health services, mental healthcare, maternity and newborn care, long-term services, affordable prescription drugs, substance abuse treatment, laboratory services, and ambulatory care. This eliminates copays, deductibles, and premiums for all Americans. Learn more
With a fair and equitable tax code in place, we will have the revenue we need to shape a generous and robust safety net, including programs that lift our fellow citizens out of poverty and ensure our neighbors’ basic peace-of-mind. Learn more
Society works best when everyone pays their fair share, and everyone contributes to the common good. I will fight to repeal the Trump tax cuts that instituted deep discounts for corporations in addition to cutting corporate rates to the lowest we’ve seen, end special tax breaks on capital gains and dividends, and implement an annual wealth tax on the ultra-rich. Learn more
People who work full-time shouldn’t be living in poverty, and it is a national disgrace that so many are. Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour would begin to lift families out of poverty, restore the middle class, and boost the economy. In Congress, I’ll fight to make that happen. Learn more
