Get StartedI support providing police departments all the tools they need to crack down on crime, including innovative technologies such as body cameras. When the reality of any high-stakes street encounter is seen in full detail and in context, truth prevails and justice is better served. Learn more
I also believe veterans should be allowed to seek medical care in the private sector, and I will support legislation to allow our veterans to receive VA coverage of treatment provided by private sector health providers. Learn more
Our military must at all times be prepared for war in order to deter attacks and encourage peace. Along with maintaining an unparalleled military capability, we must invest in protection of our homeland, by making vitally important upgrades to the electric grid and cyber networks. Learn more
We also must reduce the supply of illicit opioid drugs. This includes proactive screening of international mail shipments to reduce the supply of illegal Chinese fentanyl entering the United States, federal litigation against opioid manufacturers, and vigorous enforcement of preexisting penal laws that prohibit drug trafficking, sale, and criminal diversion of drugs. Learn more
We must cut down on the demand for opioids by reducing over-prescription, and by funding research into alternative painkillers and opioid-addiction vaccines. Learn more
Allowing reimbursement under Medicaid for opioid addiction treatment and providing access to treatment for addiction to federal inmates are but a few of the measures that can be utilized to combat this epidemic. Learn more
Schools, police, and prosecutors must not be afraid to use common sense to protect our children when they see a real threat. Schools need to have the power, and the motivation, to discipline and expel the dangerous and criminally disturbed, and to keep them away from our kids. Learn more
In Congress, I will support legislation such as the Justice for Victims of Iranian Terrorism Act, which sought to prevent President Obama from lifting sanctions on Iran until Iran paid out on judgments awarded by US courts to Iranian terrorism victims. Learn more
As your representative in Congress, I will advocate for my deeply held belief that, as long as the United Nations continues to spew an anti-Israel and anti-West agenda, our tax dollars should not be used to support it. Learn more
I am a staunch advocate for the alliance between the United States and Israel, for strengthening the bonds between our two countries, and for ensuring that Israel maintains a decisive qualitative military edge over the countries that threaten its very existence. Learn more
I will fight to lighten the tremendous regulatory burden imposed on Americans by government bureaucracy. New Yorkers, in particular, are saddled with an incredible amount of regulation. I will work hard to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles the government imposes on our citizens. Learn more
Taking whole categories of guns out of the hands of law abiding individuals is not just unconstitutional, it’s also not a serious solution. Learn more
We must eliminate the federal mandates that drive up the cost of insurance and return regulatory power over health insurance to the individual states. Learn more
I believe that, as with so many other things, the health care industry is best served by the free market principle of vigorous competition. Competition among health insurance companies will separate those which are superb at finding out their customers’ needs and providing great customer service at the lowest possible cost from those which are not. Learn more
We need policies that prioritize highly-skilled would-be immigrants, rather than the free-for-all and “visa lottery” system we have seen for years. We need policies which allow highly-educated foreign students to remain in this country, rather than leaving as soon as they graduate from our prestigious universities, taking so much human capital and brain power with them. Learn more
We need swifter action where deportation is called for. And we need a real crackdown on those businesses which are part of the problem. Learn more
Just as there is a new kind of Republican thinking which aims to protect American jobs through better trade deals, there is also a new desire to build, and willingness to spend on infrastructure. This type of spending creates countless jobs, and helps the economy thrive by lowering costs to commuters. It is a good investment. I am fully aware that members of Congress must compete for funding for their districts. I assure you that I will not take your vote for granted, and I will fight hard to bring that much needed infrastructure spending to Long Island. Learn more
I strongly advocate for fiscal responsibility and restraint. To ensure the sustainable health of our national economy, we need fiscal policies that get our debt under control and stop wasting taxpayer money. Learn more
There must be a cap on the amount of money our elected officials can spend. Without it, there is no way to stop this cycle. I support a Constitutional Amendment limiting federal spending to no more than 20% of GDP. Learn more
We are not here to provide an endless flow of cash to the government. We have better things to do with our money. Taxes must be low, both on business and on individuals and families, for the economy to run at full throttle. Learn more
I would support a Constitutional Amendment mandating that any increase in the federal income tax would require a supermajority vote of three-fifths of Congress. Learn more
