The loudest debate among politicians is to determine how much money to spend to alleviate the costs for people and provide healthcare by taking care of the costs through subsidies. This does not address the root of the problem which is the costs themselves. The costs are inflated and pricing is not transparent. Many patients are even barred from access to treatments because the government, through the FDA, has kept life-saving drugs off the market, including those that are available in other countries.
