On the CalSavers board, she is working on designing a retirement savings plan for the approximately 7 million private-sector workers who lack employer-sponsored retirement plans. Betty understands that guaranteeing retirement security goes beyond pension security alone, and that it also must address the ever-rising costs of housing, health care, long-term care, utilities, and other needs for living in retirement.
