As a commercial realtor, Bev has worked with small and large businesses in Maine every day for the last 15 years and was named the Maine Commercial REALTOR of the Year in 2019 by her peers. She understands the needs of employers and what it takes to create jobs. Bev also realizes Maine is at a critical juncture where many employers cannot find qualified employees for good jobs in the trades. As the council liaison to the school committee in Brewer, Bev is very aware of the challenges facing our schools. With kids in public schools, Bev also understands the positive impact teachers can have on a child’s life. Schools are the lifeblood of the community, ensuring that future generations have the knowledge necessary to lead our towns and our businesses. Driving the roads from Lincoln to Castine on the campaign trail, and spending time navigating our state with her family, Bev is acutely aware that our roads and bridges are in a state of disrepair. Roads, bridges, clean drinking water, modern sewer systems, and broadband: these are all things that are not just nice to have - they are necessities to ensure our kids get to school, our workers get to their jobs, and our customers get to our businesses. During college, Bev spent a summer staying with her grandmother with Alzheimer's right before she entered a nursing home. This experience gave her a greater understanding of the struggles that Maine’s aging population faces as well as the families that care for them.
