Get StartedKeeping our citizens safe is my number one priority. I am committed to making sure we have enough officers on the street and they have access to the essential training space needed in our area. We need to keep up with growth – that includes a new fire station at Vistancia and additional resources to handle the increase in calls at Lake Pleasant. Most importantly, I will make sure that our first responders have the proper lifesaving equipment needed. Learn more
Peoria is a great place to live – It can also be a great place to work. I am committed to working with local leaders, the economic development department, business owners and others to ensure growth that brings high value businesses to Peoria. We must focus on attracting corporate offices and skilled operations who embrace the distinct nature of North Peoria and its values. We must also take advantage of regional job generators nearby to ensure Peoria benefits from those economic opportunities. Learn more
While cities are not in charge of our schools, local leaders can play an important part in ensuring we have the best possible education for our students. I want to work with schools (public and private) to manage ongoing growth and school capacity. We can’t continue to have a disconnect between building homes and simply relying on the school districts to provide space for families. It’s not a long-term viable solution. We need to strengthen education partnerships and bring schools, elected officials, and others together to explore all possible solutions to keep class sizes small and offer quality education opportunities for all students. O other city has the capacity to offer the amenities we can for outdoor recreation. That is why we need to safeguard the balance between open space and growth. Some necessary development is in our future – particularly in the Mesquite district. However, overdevelopment of open spaces can significantly harm one of our city’s greatest and most unique assets for outdoor recreation. We must ensure that our neighborhoods can continue to enjoy the outdoor beauty and activities we currently have and embrace a vision for what we want our community to be like for future generations. Keep Taxes Low and Support Fiscal Responsibility Peoria’s sound fiscal management and commitment to keeping taxes low have earned the city a Triple A bond rating. I want to ensure we can continue to provide excellent services to our community without increasing taxes. In my professional and civic responsibilities, I have found that there are always opportunities for fiscal improvements whether it's negotiating better contracts or getting better interest rates. Peoria has done a good job of managing our spending wisely and I will make sure it stays that way. Learn more
