Get StartedI support providing resources for entrepreneurship and small business ownership: We need people to be able to start and grow businesses in our district. We need young people to stay here and bring their creativity and passion to drive new ideas and businesses. I will fight to provide funding to small businesses and startups. In addition, a health economy and good corporate responsibility is vital to secure good jobs with livable wages and benefits including paid family and sick leave. Learn more
Education is key for our future. I am an advocate for public schools and path to higher education including technical training which is key to upward mobility. We need 100% high school graduation rates and quality early childhood education. We also need to enhance school curriculum to teach scientific research and technological capabilities. It’s harder today to afford college, it’s harder today to pay back college debt, and it’s harder today to get a job coming out of college that sets you on a path to success. I will fight to make education effective, attainable, and affordable. Learn more
We should not go bankrupt or forego preventive care that leads to an emergency room visit in our country. That is why I have supported Medicaid expansion in our Georgia legislature. In Congress, I will continue to protect the Affordable Care Act including pre-existing conditions and work to improve quality healthcare access including reducing price gouging of prescription medicine and providing patient protections from excessive out-of-pocket and out-of-network expenses. The narrative of Washington Republicans couldn’t be further from the truth. The immigrants I know are hard-working and embrace the best of American values. I will push for comprehensive immigration reform and the DREAM Act, and for DACA. In Georgia, there are 47,000 DACA-eligible people, and we stand to lose 66 million dollars in state and local taxes by the elimination of DACA per the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute. But the true cost is the loss of human capital as these young folks are culturally American, and la crème de la crème of aspiring professionals including teachers, doctors, and lawyers. Learn more
