Get StartedI support codifying into New Hampshire law the guidelines established by the Supreme Court in the Roe vs. Wade decision: In the first trimester, abortion may not be regulated by anyone besides a pregnant person and their doctor; In the second trimester, a state may regulate abortion if such a regulation is “reasonably related to maternal health.” Finally, in the third trimester, once a fetus is “viable”—in other words, can survive outside the womb—states may regulate or prohibit abortion altogether, except in cases where the act is medically necessary to save a life. Just as we should all have the right to love who we love and marry who we want, we should also have the right to decide if, when and/or how many children we wish to have. Women should have the right to decide whether to continue a pregnancy, particularly when there are medical complications. Learn more
Invest more of the funds we receive from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative(RGGI) in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Allocate additional state funds to programs that help– particularly lower income- homeowners winterize their homes and invest in more energy efficient heat pumps, water heaters, lighting and appliances. Raise the size limit on all solar projects seeking to participate in net metering to up to 5 MW. Adopt the latest energy conservation building codes which will make homes almost 10% more efficient and lower monthly bills. Double – at least - our state’s Renewable Portfolio Standard for the percentage of power generated from renewable sources by 2040 and set additional targets for the years beyond that. Link future rate increases for our state’s regulated utilities to incentives to make the investments necessary to modernize our electric grid through a “Performance-Based Rate Setting” process. Actively engage in efforts to develop offshore wind in the Gulf of Maine and bring that power to New Hampshire. Learn more
Provide additional funding and financing tools to support the private development of single-family and multifamily housing units. Review current regulatory requirements and timelines to ensure they are not creating barriers to the development of new projects. Continue to encourage the education and training of the skilled workforce needed to construct these new housing units. Encourage local communities to adopt the planning and zoning changes needed to ensure that we can add the different types of housing we need to meet the needs of all Granite Staters, regardless of where they live. Offer targeted assistance to renters and/or new homeowners who least can afford it or who are providing much needed critical services in our communities, e.g. teachers and first responders.
