I think the market study highlighted a strong need to improve marketing of local businesses. The pandemic placed even greater stress on Franklin’s small businesses. As I look around the country, I grow wary of the dangers of large sections of our society losing faith in their government. Both at large and right here in Franklin, we all must work to ensure that public offices remain of, by, and for the people – all the people. Learn more
Affordable housing is critical in ensuring low-income, elderly, and disabled individuals and families have a home in Franklin. The Franklin Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund should continue to be utilized to ensure Franklin exceeds the state’s 10 percent threshold for affordable housing, with a priority on increasing affordable housing options near Downtown and the Commuter Rail. In addition to the protection and appreciation for historic buildings, I would love to continue leveraging old town mills, factories, and schools to become pillars of local residence and retail. I’m excited to support the innovative Clark-Cutler-McDermott re-purposing and hope success can breed similar innovation in the mills at the Crossing. Learn more
In addition, I am a firm supporter of extending the Trunkline Trail into Downtown. I truly believe that – by attracting both residents and out-of-towners to park Downtown, frequent Franklin’s businesses, and get more active – this project alone would enact a cascade of positive improvements.
