Everyone falls on hard times. For those who fall the hardest we must fund the resources that help them get back up. Rehabilitation is not always successful on the first try. But as long as people are willing to keep trying, we must be willing to keep helping. Learn more
I propose that we tie the minimum wage to the average cost of housing. Anyone who is willing to work 40 hours per week should be able to afford dignified housing. The minimum wage should automatically adjust with the cost of housing to avoid fighting a political battle every time it needs to be increased. Learn more
Not every job offers a 401k, and for people earning lower wages it can be difficult to save for life goals and emergencies. I propose the State of New Mexico implement a system where people may choose a percentage of their paychecks deducted pre-tax for 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year savings plans. Learn more
