No one should have to face a lifetime of debt to attend college and get the skills needed to compete in today’s economy, that’s why David has been a strong defender of Pell Grants, leading the annual appropriations request to advocate for our federal budget to include funding to double the maximum grant award. David has helped design and deliver on an agenda to strengthen the middle class. As part of this agenda, David advocated for the College Affordability Act, which would reverse the rising cost of tuition by restoring state and federal investments in public colleges and universities, providing dramatic increases in the value of Pell Grants, and making existing student loans cheaper and easier to pay off.
