The balance between respecting the environment and exporting our natural resources demands careful discovery and deliberation. In addition, we must be mindful of powerful outside interests working against Alaska's resource development. In reality, what may appear to be a well-reasoned and thoughtful position against developing our resources is a well-paid and trained sophist working diligently on behalf of other interests outside of Alaska. The representatives who voted for the increased PFD argued members within their own districts should enjoy the liberty and increased PFD would give them. The issue here is, does your representative know best how to spend the PFD, or do you? Learn more
