Get StartedI am not just angry, I am furious. Elections matter because officials will either rise to meet a crisis or hide from it. I am running to be part of a solution that addresses police violence against black people and people of color. Learn more
In crisis after crisis we have seen our communities step up. Government will not be the answer to all our problems, but it will need to be a part of the solution. Whether the ongoing effects of this Pandemic, George Floyd, and police violence against black people and people of color, we are going to need legislators to step up. Based on my opponent’s record, I have zero confidence that he will. I am asking you to support my campaign so that I have an opportunity to step up for you. Learn more
The Governor’s leadership has allowed our State to not just “flatten the curve”; we bent it to the floor. However, we remain in Phase 2 of re-opening as Covid-19 cases spike across the country and now Rhode Island. If it is not safe enough for Phase 3 (fully-open), how can it be for schools. Re-opening schools should be consistent with the phases being used to re-open the rest of the State. Start the school year in Phase 2 (Hybrid Model) and monitor progress so we have the flexibility to transition to Phase 3 (Fully Open), or pull back to Phase 1 (Full Distance Learning) depending on local conditions. Parents that prefer distance learning should be given the option and resources to do so. Learn more
Guns are a priority for our current 30th District State Senator, but for the opposite reason. He introduced legislation sponsored by the NRA to allow gun silencers/suppressors on rifles. In 2019 the Virginia Beach mass shooter used a silencer to kill 12 people. In 2013 a former police officer in Southern California killed four and wounded three over 9 days using a rifle suppressor. Silencers mask the sound of a gun, changing the sound into one not easily recognized as gunfire. As a result, assassination-style murders become easier and bystanders may not know to alert first responders. They are deadly for the public and law enforcement. Learn more
If elected, I will raise similar legislation to reimburse Eversource customers and limit multi-million dollar executive compensation for a monopoly that we, the tax payers, granted. It's time to take back OUR power. Learn more
Democratic sponsored legislation like Paid Family Medical Leave is the backbone for worker relief. If a worker develops a serious health condition or has to take time off to care for a family member, a worker can do so without being penalized with lost wages. As we battle this Pandemic, the legislation will be a lifeline for workers forced to take time off to care for themselves and family. I support and will work to improve strong paid family medical leave. Learn more
We need to put in place legislation that will once and for all ensure the minimum wage keeps pace with inflation and always remains a living wage. Learn more
