The Board should guide and assist those local boards as needed and requested. We all have the same goal of preparing Kansas students for lifelong success. Working together, we can achieve this. Socialization, resiliency, and the ability to handle setbacks are vital to preparing kids for the world awaiting them. Anxiety and depression are issues that necessitate the state’s continued focus to achieve social and emotional growth. Proactive leadership in these critical areas should be a priority for Kansas. Our students need this and they deserve this. The Board should be comprised of members who work together to benefit students. It is no place for partisan grandstanding. David has decades of experience in collaborating with diverse school groups and boards regarding educational initiatives. He embraces teamwork and looks forward to working alongside his fellow board members. As a CPA with decades of private sector experience, David has the financial acumen needed to understand the fiscal realities for Kansas schools. Using taxpayer resources efficiently and effectively is a must. David’s vast experience in advising businesses and analyzing financial statements will be beneficial to the Kansas Board and the citizens of Kansas.
