I am in favor of implementing a Medicare for all system, but, in contrast to some of my Democratic colleagues, I believe that the role of private insurance must still be maintained. While we should expand Medicare coverage for those in need, for those with the means, and who prefer utilizing a private insurance carrier, they should be able to utilize the private market.
