Defense / Veterans

Denying retirees access to on-base medical care diminishes a cherished benefit that once fostered a profound sense of gratitude and community among active-duty personnel and retirees, as well as their families. The resulting erosion of this generational culture exacerbates the isolation felt by our active-duty forces, distancing them further from the broader population, which could ultimately impact recruitment and retention. Supporting pre-K education, as detailed in the Build Back Better plan, accelerates social skills training and foundational learning habits. I do not support school voucher programs that divert funds from public education to the private education sector. The Homes for Every Local Protector, Educator, and Responder – also known as HELPER – Act would provide easier entry to home ownership for teachers. Supporting public education means standing for the collective dream of an inclusive, educated and vibrant society. Ultimately, supporting legislation that protects animals is an investment in a more ethical, sustainable, and compassionate world. It acknowledges the interconnectedness of all living beings and the responsibility of humans to act as stewards of the planet. Learn more

I advocate for subsidies for home solar systems, hybrid plug-ins and electric cars, provided that the majority of the resources for these technologies are manufactured within the United States. I support wind and solar power generation and endorse research into clean nuclear energy. Learn more

While I don’t advocate for an immediate total elimination of fossil fuels, we have an urgent need to reduce our dependence on oil and coal, which are finite resources adversely impacting our environment and future generations. I support the REDUCE Act, which seeks to tax virgin plastic production and allocate the revenue towards developing plastic recycling infrastructure. Government Reform

I support straightforward voter registration processes, clear voter confirmation of registration status, and unambiguous notifications about polling locations and voting options. Additionally, we need transparency in political financing, and I will back legislation that shines a light on the shadowy funds that distort our political conversations. Guns

I will vote for common sense safety legislation that protects our children, our families and our neighborhoods. Universal background checks are supported by most Americans, and I will support law abiding citizens’ Second Amendment right. Learn more

I support the authority of the judiciary to restrict weapons access to violent offenders, persons on bond, persons who are violently unwell and persons who are under a peace order for domestic violence. We must get ghost guns off our streets, and we should create a retailer code of conduct that will help prevent diversion of weapons into unlawful activities. Learn more

Healthcare

I will advocate for improved health care for all Americans. While our country boasts the best medical technology in the world, many patients still cannot access this care due to a lack of insurance, restrictive insurance coverage, lengthy wait times for appointments or geographic barriers to specialized services. Maintaining patients’ choice of provider, and clearly delineating the training of all health care team members, will support informed decision-making by patients. Ultimately, patients should make informed decisions about their health care without constraints from bureaucrats or administrators. Learn more

Social Services

I recognize the importance of combating loneliness and isolation, and I will propose initiatives to foster community connections and promote programs that encourage intergenerational interactions. Our seniors deserve more than just sustenance; they deserve a vibrant, engaged and meaningful life. Wages / Job Benefits

I unequivocally support the Davis-Bacon Act for fair prevailing wages. I will endorse legislation that prevents federal agencies from awarding contracts for U.S. building projects to foreign entities. Learn more

I support the expansion of work visa programs and believe that employers utilizing these programs should provide commercial health insurance to their workers. Penalties should be heightened for those complicit in, participating in or enlisting human trafficking services. At the same time, we should grant amnesty from prosecution to victims of human trafficking. Moreover, we must collaborate with neighboring countries to dismantle violent cartels and organized crime enterprises, thereby reducing the push factors for refugee migration. Learn more
