As a senior at the University of Colorado, I was able to cast my vote in favor of Amendment 20, which was the bill that allowed the legalization of medical marijuana in Colorado, and the rest is history. This bill allowed people suffering from an assortment of ailments access to cannabis. I am proud of that bill and I know that the results of South Dakota passing something similar this election cycle will be equally as important to state coffers and civil liberties. Learn more
A low cost of living, excellent environmental resources (that we must protect), and a hardworking culture, I would really like to see South Dakota become a mecca for “cottage industry” teleworkers. In turn, these folks can spend money in the community and support our bars and restaurants, pay state and local sales taxes and raise families. Learn more
When Governor Daugaard raised the sales tax to move South Dakota teacher pay from 51stin the U.S. to 48th, that was a step in the right direction. We must continue to creatively find ways so that our educators can focus on their jobs and continue to educate the youth. Learn more

There are currently talks of gold exploration in the areas of Jenny Gulch, which could have devastating effects on the thousands of thirsty mouths downstream that rely on this critical infrastructure for our needs.
