Get StartedOur nation has been scarred by the ramifications of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, and it is time to turn away from this national tragedy. Some of my proudest moments in the legislature have been supporting bills that have taken steps toward limiting the abhorrent practice of killing children before they are born, and educating the public to change their hearts to embrace life for all the preborn. It is my hope and prayer that one day we will see the end of abortions in our state and nation. Learn more
Wisconsin residents hold our first responders in high regard, and public safety is a top priority in the 52nd District. I have the utmost respect for our law enforcement officers. They have difficult jobs and are worthy of our support. Our fine local public safety agencies are worthy of credit for maintaining the peacefulness of our Fond du Lac-area communities, and maintaining it as a desirable community to live, work, and raise a family. Recently we have seen nationwide debate and protest over the public’s relationship with law enforcement. This debate has too frequently turned from peaceful protest into lawlessness, vandalism, looting, injuries, and even deaths. Wisconsin has not been immune from these challenges as we have seen in Madison, Milwaukee, and Kenosha. Learn more
I have a goal of encouraging cooperation between the varying educational entities across our state. We should all be concerned and seek viable, science-based solutions for declining/flat reading scores in too much of our state. I have sought to improve the accountability system for all schools receiving tax dollars. I have fought for teachers to feel safe in their classrooms. I have also sought to improve transparency and consistency regarding the heavy amount of standardized testing performed in our public schools. Learn more
I am an originalist in my views of the US Constitution along the lines of the philosophy of the late US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. The 2nd Amendment, the right to bear arms, is equivalent in importance as any part of the US Constitution. I believe that the words “…shall not be infringed” are literal in meaning, and that any changes to the 2nd Amendment would require a constitutional amendment. Learn more
In my experience the residents of Wisconsin residents feel their tax burden is too heavy. The transition from a booming economy with record employment to a sudden crash due to the pandemic, will heavily impact property taxpayers in 2020, and cause significant reductions in state revenue. The upcoming 2021-23 budget will require the state legislature to make significant adjustments. Republican control of the state legislature has improved Wisconsin's tax burden rank amongst the states, and continued Republican majorities will control the growth of government. I will continue to search for ways to limit waste and abuse of tax dollars, and to reduce tax burdens for all income levels. Learn more
