Criminal Justice / Public Safety

It is essential that we develop effective alternatives to society’s current patterns of violence. We will work to demilitarize, and eliminate weapons of mass destruction, without being naive about the intentions of other governments. We recognize the need for self-defense and the defense of others who are in help- less situations. We promote non-violent methods to oppose practices and policies with which we disagree, and will guide our actions toward lasting personal, community and global peace. Learn more

Economy

Redesign our work structures to encourage employee ownership and workplace democracy. Develop new economic activities and institutions that will allow us to use our new technologies in ways that are humane, freeing, ecological and accountable, and responsive to communities. Learn more

Restructure our patterns of income distribution to reflect the wealth created by those outside the formal monetary economy: those who take responsibility for parenting, housekeeping, home gardens, community volunteer work, etc. Restrict the size and concentrated power of corporations with- out discouraging superior efficiency or technological innovation. Environment / Energy

Germany is already meeting more than half of their energy requirements through the use of solar and wind power technology and Costa Rica is powered 100% by renewable energy TODAY. This is clearly the direction that America needs to go. Learn more

Once elected to Congress, I plan on sponsoring new Green legislation for the American people in the U.S. House, and also simultaneously with my Green Party colleagues in the U.S. Senate, that will eliminate the BILLIONS of dollars in American tax subsidies provided for multinational oil corporations each year and instead provide those same tax subsidies for individuals and small businesses that invest in AMERICAN MANUFACTURED solar and wind power technology. Human societies must operate with the understanding that we are part of nature, not separate from nature. We must maintain an ecological balance and live within the ecological and resource limits of our communities and our planet. We support a sustainable society which utilizes resources in such a way that future generations will benefit and not suffer from the practices of our generation. To this end we must practice agriculture which replenishes the soil; move to an energy efficient economy; and live in ways that respect the integrity of natural systems. Learn more

I believe that we should also encourage electric power companies to convert their existing oil, gas, coal and nuclear fired generating infrastructure over to clean, renewable energy by passing new Green legislation into law requiring all commercial power companies to temporarily suspend dividend payments to their stockholders and bonuses for their corporate executives and instead invest their corporate profits in the AMERICAN MANUFACTURED equipment necessary to replace their outdated electric generating capacity with renewable energy from the wind and the sun. In my view, the days generating electricity by by burning dirty coal, oil and gas and polluting our environment, or by risking the chance of a nuclear meltdown, are over. We have the technology available today to capture FREE, CLEAN energy that is quite literally falling from the sky, and then converting that energy into electricity through the use of solar and wind power technology. Government Reform

Centralization of wealth and power contributes to social and economic injustice, environmental destruction, and militarization. Therefore, we support a restructuring of social, political and economic institutions away from a system which is controlled by and mostly benefits the powerful few, to a democratic, less bureaucratic system. Decision-making should, as much as possible, remain at the individual and local level, while assuring that civil rights are protected for all citizens. Learn more

I pledge to you that I will make it known to corporate lobbyists and the corporations they represent that they will not be welcomed into my office.  This is exactly what I pledge to do FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE and what I refuse to do for the multinational corporations that own the Democratic-Republican Duopoly Party. I will also work to create new types of political organizations which expand the process of participatory democracy by directly including citizens in the decision-making process.  Part of this process will be the formation of a new Green Caucus in Congress unlike any other that will include individual American citizens and not corporate lobbyists. What we need in America are legislators in Washington who are willing to actually represent THE AMERICAN PEOPLE who elected them to the offices that they hold, and that is what I am willing to do. Learn more

As I have stated time and again, we need to overthrow the corrupt, corporate-capitalist and corporate owned Democratic-Republican Duopoly Party.  But how can we do this?  The only way to accomplish this is for the American people to completely abandon this corrupt duopoly cabal of evil and greed and oil and war by voting for independent and Green Party candidates at every opportunity, including the Green Party presidential candidate running for office this year. Infrastructure / Transportation

What we need in America today is a nationwide, high speed passenger rail system of transportation, whereby we can take our cars and light trucks with us as we travel across North America, very much similar to the Channel Tunnel between England and France. Learn more

Wages / Job Benefits

Establish some form of basic economic security, open to all. Move beyond the narrow “job ethic” to new definitions of “work,” jobs” and “income” that reflect the changing economy. Learn more
