In a state where gun violence is the leading cause of death for children, it is morally reprehensible that our Republican supermajority has proposed laws to make it easier to attain an assault weapon and shielded gun manufacturers from liability. Justin will continue to push the Republican supermajority to change its draconian healthcare agenda, which has led to Tennessee to be ranked 42nd in healthcare, 47th in public health, and 35th in healthcare quality compared to states across the nation. Tennessee has also been plagued by the preventable crisis of more rural hospital closures per capita than any other state and enacted one of the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the nation with no exceptions for rape or incest. These are unacceptable policy choices, and Justin will continue to hold Republican leadership accountable for their decisions to let healthcare corporations, Big Pharma, and partisan extremists set Tennessee health policy. Justin has worked towards clearing obstacles to equal citizenship in Tennessee and welcoming immigrants as part of our communities because we all benefit from a more diverse district and entrepreneurial economy. Tennessee is home to immigrants and refugees from across the globe, and that is especially true for House District 52, the most diverse district in Tennessee. As a bold progressive voice in the Tennessee legislature, Justin will continue to be a fierce advocate lifting up the call: “No hate, no fear! Immigrants are welcome here!”. Learn more
