Get StartedWe have a diverse ecosystem of businesses in District 1. Sound economic policy encourages our local businesses to thrive. The role of the state should be to remove the roadblocks and ensure that we have an infrastructure that supports a healthy quality of life. Most of our citizens are middle class. We need to ensure that they are not spending disproportional amounts of their income on housing, childcare, taxes, and other necessities. Discretionary income fuels economies. You deserve elected officials who legislate to encourage the health of our businesses and workers. Learn more
Our libraries are vibrant community gathering places that enhance education. They are under continuous attack by our elected officials who would make laws to bankrupt both our libraries and our schools.. Yes, parents should, and do, have the right to supervise what materials their children check out. Learn more
The events in West Bonner County School District this past year were a dramatic demonstration of just how much Bonner County voters value their schools. Yet, our legislators refuse to release even the necessary funds to make public school facilities usable. They propose bills that would strain our schools even more. We don't just need usable facilities, we need to be able to provide a rich environment for learning. To educate the whole child, we need athletics and extra curricular activities. We have many options in our district, spanning home schooling, private, and public education. We want all young people to have access to the learning resources, social engagement, guidance, and extracurricular activities that provide the educational foundation for productive community members. I will work to ensure that educational resources are accessible to you, whether you choose public education, home schooling, or private school. Learn more
Freedom doesn't mean letting the biggest bully dictate decisions for the rest of us. We need the freedom of knowing that our children will get the same high quality education here in District 1 as the students in Boise or Boston. We need the freedom to be able to allow our children to read books that expand their minds and transport them to new places. Learn more
We need to be able to solve our problems locally without constraints and controls applied by the state. Affordable housing is one of the top issues for local businesses. Yet, the state is trying to restrict local governments ability to problem solve. Our local hospital system no longer provides gynocological or obstetrics for women. This curtails the ability of local businesses to hire employees between 20-40. These are local issues that our legislators should be trying to solve. Let's collaboratively work on ways to restore this service. This shouldn't be a divisive issue. Learn more
We can create an environment where our healthcare providers thrive. Other rural locations, similar to ours, have attracted the best and the brightest medical minds because of the quality of life ... Because they have recreation like ours and a thriving community. The financial burdens on rural hospitals tough. We need to legislate to make it easier, not more difficult for hospitals to stay open. Despite the divisive climate, I do believe that most of us agree that quality healthcare is something we want. Let's problem solve collaboratively, systemically, and rationally. Learn more
We must restore healthcare for women and ensure financial viability of our rural healthcare providers. Learn more
We are growing at unprecedented levels and that growth is expected to continue. We cannot stop the growth, but we CAN approach infrastructure with systemic thoughtfulness and rationality. We can make sure that the people who live and work here - the middle class and below - are not left to pay the bill. Our legislators like to play "shift the burden" games to make it look like they are lowering our taxes while we make up the difference in a hundred different ways. Learn more
Ensuring the entire system of infrastructure required to absorb the growth while ensuring that we maintain our quality of life for all citizens. We do not want to create an environment where only the wealthy thrive. Learn more
It's not just about roads and bridges. It's about sewers and water safety. It's about adequate and affordable housing to support the workforce. Access and protection of our public lands, parks, lakes and mountains cannot be overlooked when we focus on infrastructure. Learn more
