Get StartedI support educating our visitors and residents alike to learn more about Hawaiian culture and agriculture, through partnerships that teach them about our host culture and the importance to malama (care for) this special place and the spirit of Aloha. Learn more
We need to start by supporting and fully funding HPD, so that they can fill their vacancies and put more officers in our neighborhoods. Learn more
Ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods is a key legislative priority for me. Learn more
We also need to ensure that violent criminals are not released back onto the streets—not because of COVID and not because of loopholes that are exploited in our system. Learn more
As a mother and grandmother, it’s deeply troubling to think that our future generations will not be able to stay in Hawaii because of the outrageous cost of living. Learn more
We must look for ways to deregulate and allow businesses to prosper so that opportunities and wages can increase. Learn more
We need to review and address the Jones Act and it’s effect on our economy. Learn more
With all of my five grandchildren still in school, I have a vested interest in the quality of education. For too long, bureaucracy at the Department of Education has run rampant, while actual benefits to teachers and students have eroded. Learn more

Homelessness in Hawaii has been a pervasive issue for decades. For the about 4,000 homeless people on Oahu, the causes of homelessness range from addiction to mental illness to physical disability. The solution cannot merely be throwing money at the problem and expecting it to go away. Homelessness is a symptom of underlying physical and mental issues that cause people to be homeless. We need programs that will support, equip, and empower people as they seek to get their lives back. Learn more
What we need is to develop responsibly, in places that make sense for the surrounding community. We do need more affordable housing, but we need to balance this with an appreciation for the neighborhoods that it will affect. We also need to make sure that funding is prudently spent, such as the $600 million that was set aside for Hawaiian Homelands. That money needs to be maximized, through public-private partnerships, so that houses will be built and so that people will be taken off of the waiting list. We can’t allow more money to get caught up in needless bureaucracy, diluting the positive impact it can have on our people. Learn more
We need to lower taxes and streamline government spending so that so much doesn’t get caught up in bureaucracy and drawn-out processes. Learn more
