Although there may not be any brick and mortar charter schools in Ashland County, virtual online schools pose the biggest threat. Many of these virtual schools have failing report cards. However, unlike your local school district who has to report this information and are held accountable by the state, the state has taken a laissez-faire approach towards charter schools. Therefore, these virtual schools aren't forced to take responsibility for failing to teach your student, The kicker here is that most virtual schools cost twice as much to educate a student as does the local public school. Accountability needs to change, and if I’m elected I will be a watchdog for our students' education and our public education system. Learn more

I believe that quality, affordable, health care should be a right, not just a privilege for the rich. No parent or loved one of a child or family member should ever be denied coverage for a procedure or treatment due to their economic situation. I believe that this country would be better with a single-payer coverage plan. Industrialized nations all over the world recognize the right of healthcare to their citizens. I will work towards those goals and will oppose all restrictions that slashes coverage, tries to privatize, or singles out and taxes the elderly and less healthy among us. Learn more
