I firmly support equality for all. LGBTQIA individuals deserve the same rights and protections afforded under the law as everyone else. Protections should be codified in state law and I will fight to have housing and employment protections added as well. Arizona is a fiercely independent state and I believe that most Arizonans do not want to interfere in anyone else's personal life. Learn more
I would like to see Arizona offer free community college for all of our residents. In the emerging economy, everyone can benefit from a college degree. As a state, we need to lessen the burden when it comes to earning that degree. Finding a way to offer a free community college education will go a long way towards decreasing the wealth gap in the United States. Learn more
I believe that every child in Arizona deserves the very best education possible. Arizona legislators continue to treat our education budget as a piggy bank and they feel free to raid funds whenever they desire. At a minimum, the state needs to repay the 301 funds that they borrowed from our children and restore education funding to pre-recession levels. Learn more
In Arizona, we are faced with environmental challenges on a regular basis. From a rise in temperatures to water shortages, environmental issues will force us into an existential crisis. I will fight to reform the Groundwater Management Act to ensure access to water for all Arizonans. Additionally, Arizona's policies should recognize the impact that humans have on global climate change and work to reduce our carbon emissions. Learn more
I believe that we need to prioritize our safety in this country. While law abiding citizens have the right to bear arms that right is not unconditional, nor without responsibilities. A first step in solving gun violence is increasing the number of counselors in our public schools. Learn more
Families in Arizona are diverse. I believe that all families regardless of their size, financial situation or where they find themselves in life should have a right to quality healthcare. We should move towards a system that will not bankrupt families who have health emergencies. Additionally, quality mental healthcare should be a part of every health care program. A comprehensive health program includes screening and treatment for all families. Learn more
Arizona has some of the weakest laws regarding conflicts of interest. I will fight to strengthen those laws and get rid of the self-dealing we see in the state legislature. We do not need any more lawmakers becoming millionaires at the stake of our children's education. Learn more
