Get StartedI’m running to protect public education. All children in Ohio deserve quality education. All schools receiving public funds should be held to the same standards. EdChoice benefits those students granted the vouchers, but takes funds from already suffering local public schools to do so. No school should make a profit off of taxpayer dollars, especially at the expense of a child’s education. EdChoice and a problematic school grading system have continued to hurt public schools and I promise to fight for all students to have a quality education. Learn more
We have to do more for the health of our environment. Realistically, we are in danger of experiencing even more devastation as a result of the man-made climate crisis. Ohio has finally started to acknowledge the urgency of this issue with plans to restore forests and provide funds for agronomic resources for farmers, but has fallen behind when it comes to renewable energy. We’ve increased our natural gas production, adding to the problem. It’s no secret increased CO2 emissions have contributed to the climate crisis, and Ohio ranks 6th in the nation. The GOP in Columbus isn't concerned enough. The survival of our planet and future generations depends on bold action against corporate interests that ignore the facts and prioritize profits over a livable planet. We must end Ohio’s fracking boom and stop bailouts for nuclear and coal. We need to increase wind, solar, and hydroelectric power in our state to not only reduce energy costs, but to protect our environment and create jobs in the process. Kids deserve hope for a future and Ohio can do better in ensuring that can be a reality. Learn more
I believe healthcare should not be a privilege. We should be increasing access to healthcare instead of creating more barriers. Ohio’s GOP pushed for work requirements for Medicaid, which could kick hundreds of thousands of Ohioans off of the program. This is alarming. Recent studies show that numbers of uninsured children in Ohio are growing by thousands each year, as well. This is a bad direction for healthcare to go in Ohio. I see how broken the healthcare system is in Ohio every day. It’s a matter of improving quality of life, and inadequate insurance coverage, high costs, and lack of transparency have many in Ohio feeling like their medical concerns are going unheard. With recent GOP legislation to attack reproductive rights, a poorly constructed medical marijuana program, and work requirements for Medicaid, we have our work cut out for us. Mental health needs more attention as we see more gun violence and drug related deaths. Low wages and stunted job growth don’t help make healthcare affordable either. l will fight to expand access to healthcare for all. Learn more
