Get StartedLee proposes a "back to basics" approach to education. Removing standardized tests, reintroducing a philosophy requirement in high schools, repeal of voucher programs in states where they are implemented, federal guidelines on teacher wages and benefits are all good first steps. Many rural communities can't afford to fund a large project like a water tower or pump station. Federal help is needed. Lee's first steps will be to create an office or offices which can offer advice and help rural utility and infrastructure authorities to find and apply for money needed for these projects. Learn more
Lee has ideas to reduce gun violence. Limitations can be engineered into weapon design to limit firing rate, magazine capacity, and reload rate. Small, initial steps like integral trigger locks are a good place to start. There are no legitimate gun sports which require the firepower seen in modern military style weapons. Sale, manufacture, or import of any weapon that doesn't follow those limitations can be restricted. Allow people to keep the guns they already own. Scarcity will increase cost and generate wealth for the owners while the most harmful guns quickly price themselves out of the hands of those who would use them for harm. Raise ownership age to 21 and require mandatory registration with local law enforcement. These steps are reasonable to promote community safety. Safe storage laws are another step. If an unsecured weapon is used in a crime, civil and criminal liability for the gun owner should be an available recourse to victims. These steps will encourage gun owners to safely and securely store their weapons at all times. The days of loosely storing them in the closet or a dresser drawer are past. Learn more

The solution is to pass Federal laws to force the repeal of harsh Texas legislation preventing healthcare options for women and to provide doctors with something Lee calls "Hippocratic Immunity". Hippocratic Immunity protects healthcare workers from criminal risk when performing life saving procedures. Encouraging rural clinics across west Texas through subsidies and federal tax breaks is also a way to improve access to healthcare for rural America. Learn more
Money is needed, not for enforcement, but for community infrastructure. Where there are problems' Americans don't hide behind a wall or ignore the problem, they face it with courage and conviction. One immediate help which could be implemented is to hire and grow non-enforcement people which can process those coming into the country and remove that burden from enforcement officers. Background checks and criminal checks are needed, but also skills assessments should be done to identify any skills they may have. Connecting them with local unions in the areas they seek to immigrate to would help increase engagement with those communities, provide training and integration, and make Americans who will be able to pay taxes and contribute to this nation's success.
