Get StartedThe FDA has not done a legitimate study on the medical benefits and risks of marijuana. Considering the negative effect legalization has had on Seattle, Colorado and California, we cannot allow Nebraska to follow suit. I do believe that if someone is dying and in pain, you should be able to give them about anything to help them alleviate the pain. I strongly oppose the legalization of marijuana for recreational use. Learn more
Supporting our farmers and ranchers is a top priority for any Nebraska representative. I will proudly serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee, unlike my opponent who abandoned Nebraska’s farmers and quit the Agriculture Committee for what he thought was a more “glamorous” committee. Nebraska farmers are telling me they believe Trump’s tough negotiation with China will pay off in the long-run and make more markets for Nebraska agriculture. Learn more
I don’t believe our Framers intended for us to have career politicians. They intended for us to have representatives, but instead, we’ve created a ruling class. When we allow individuals to serve 30, 40, 50 and nearly 60 years in Congress or any office, the nation loses because they are only interested in keeping their power. I supported the successful local term limits petition in Lincoln on the Mayor. I support a measure that would limit Members of Congress to two six-year terms in the U.S. Senate and six two-year terms in the House of Representatives, allowing a person to serve 12 years in each office. A person would have to sit out for six years, and if they wanted to run again for the same seat, they could do so. Learn more
The right to bear arms that our Founding Fathers guaranteed in the Constitution was not to allow Americans the freedom to hunt as liberals claim; it was to ensure liberty from tyranny. I am a strong supporter of American’s right to bear arms. Learn more
I oppose red flag laws. I don’t believe we can put our 2nd Amendment rights in the hands of unelected judges. There is a slippery slope involved with this issue where once you start chipping away at a constitutional right, it becomes easier to take away more and more rights. I do not see how a red flag law would not restrict gun owners’ 2nd Amendment rights. Learn more
The two things government is required to do for us is to protect us militarily and build public infrastructure. Right now, the Democrats in Congress are holding up much-needed infrastructure legislation that would go a long way toward repairing and improving our aging roads and bridges. Learn more
