Get StartedWe need to restructure the Student loan lending process. The cost of education must be linked to the earning potential of the degree sought. We must also require colleges to be co-signer on the loans. If they are turning out a useful degree they should shoulder some of the responsibility. If we do this watch how fast useless fad type degrees dry up. We must allow student loans to be dismissed through proper access to bankruptcy courts. I'm not talking wholesale forgiveness, but we need to allow those who are under so much financial pressure that there is no way out to have fair and equitable court hearings on the issue. We can make the bar high to avoid abuse, but court access on debt alleviation is 100% American. It is unfair that all other debt taken on can be dismissed but not the one that is most pervasive in the lives of millions. Learn more
The socialist philosophies being promoted from within our own government are in direct opposition to the concept of Liberty. We cannot allow our freedoms to be suffocated by group think or a mob mentality. Socialism is about making us all the the same not by bringing us all up but by dragging us all down and leaving an elite group of decision makers at the top. Do we as Americans believe that some leader has the magic pill for utopia? They do not. I went to city college in NYC where versions of the green new deal have been regurgitated for 40 years. The Green New Deal is a C minus term paper that would crush the United States once and for all. Learn more
Healthcare has long been an issue in America. The main question is how do we cover the 10 to 30 million uncovered people with health insurance? Many complex and basically unworkable plans have been floated or enacted. I am not in favor of government takeover of healthcare, which is 1/5th of the US economy. First off, it would bankrupt the country, secondly the quality of healthcare would diminish sharply. When does the government run anything smoothly? Being a pharmacist for over 25 years I am on the front lines of healthcare every day. I am in the place where the patient comes face to face with health questions and costs. And I certainly do not trust the government with access to our most private information. Just look at the government leaks and spying that has gone on in the last 3 years, do we really want the government to have access to our health files? Let's face it, if they did they could plant anything in someone's medical history at any time to have them declared insane or incompetent. Do women really want the government to have records of all their most personal health decisions? We Can Cover All Americans Without A Government Mandate So instead of tearing down the system I say we keep the focus on how to cover everyone. This can be done quite simply by changing the dependent laws. Right now to be someone's dependent you have to be married or be a child of the policy holder, or a legal dependent or domestic partner. By why not allow people to voluntarily cover whomever they choose and add them as a dependent to their plan? Why not be able to cover your extended family, friends, or those in need? Why not allow the likes of Google and Facebook to pay the premiums for millions of Americans? What if the NFL devoted one Sundays receipts to covering the uninsured? About 60 to 100 million people say they want government healthcare, so let them opt into it voluntarily . We don't need all 330 million Americans to cover the 10 - 30 million uninsured. I call it the Added Dependent plan. If you choose to pay to cover someone as a dependent, then do so. Learn more
Stop spending money to benefit illegal immigrants and give that money to our American children to pay for their education. We earned it for our children, and it is our children that rightfully deserve the benefit. They should not have to sit by and take on massive debt because we as a society care more about others than about them. Learn more
