Get StartedMy position is simple, Veterans have served us and we will serve them. Our heroes have put themselves in harm’s way to defend our liberties. We are obligated and honored to serve them. This includes quality care for wounded and aging Veterans. Reducing wait times and access to VA care. Improve mental health services to reduce Veteran suicides and help homeless Veterans. Not only have Veterans served us, but they and active duty personnel provide a huge impact for all of Southern Arizona. Veterans make up much of our law enforcement agencies and firefighters. Fort Huachuca and Davis-Monthan serve as vital economic engines and employers. Not to mention the vast number of retirees helping our service industries with everyday purchases. We owe them more than we realize, and I will do my part to give back to the men and women that continue to serve our community. Learn more
James Carville coined the phrase “The Economy, Stupid”. That statement was true then and true today. Trump deserves credit for recognizing when taxpayers keep more of their own money, combined with less government, capitalism works. The result is undeniable. Prior to the COVID-19 crisis; 4 million new jobs, unemployment for Hispanics, women, and veterans at all-time lows. Post COVID-19 we will need to redouble our efforts to get America back to work. As a fellow business owner, I know that good fiscal policy helps us all, no matter our socioeconomic status or label. I have two successful businesses, understand budgeting, how money works, and how empowering employees drive the economic engine of a company. Government is no different. Empower the people, combined with sound financial planning, and America will continue to flourish. Learn more
This is not an academic issue; our district shares a border with Mexico. Coyotes, drug smuggling, and human trafficking are real problems. Unfortunately, many of these issues are due to a lack of enforcement of existing immigration laws. Instead, many elected officials have tried to use illegal immigration to push political agendas and create social division. The truth is a majority of Southern Arizona citizens are pro legal immigration and truly love our Mexican heritage and culture. We simply want new immigrants to be subject to the same standards of law-abiding citizens to pay taxes, accept American laws and traditions. I disagree when communities create Sanctuary Cities, ignore criminal activity and leverage a humanitarian crisis for political gain. I believe we need to enforce current immigration laws, devise a plan to address the 11 million-plus illegals in the country, and support Trump’s current enforcement strategies including a border wall. Real solutions will require both parties to work together. Learn more
The Social Security Trust fund was estimated to be insolvent in 15 years and Medicare in 6. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 outbreak and response, these estimates will be accelerated even faster. Prior to COVID-19 crisis, 2020 was on pace to be the first year that Social Security would take in less revenue (payroll taxes) than benefits (Social Security Recipients). These programs amongst others represent 122 trillion in unfunded liabilities that make the national debt look small in comparison. The current representatives have done little to resolve these issues. Our government is obligated to fulfill the promises they made for all generations. Learn more
