She will defend the right for individuals to protect themselves and their family, while balancing the responsibility that comes with gun ownership. To wit, Pamelya introduced Bennie's Bill named after the 13-year-old Washington Middle School child murdered on the playground by a classmate with his father's unsecured gun. She strongly supports CAP (child access prevention) legislation and when re-elected will update the criminal code to impose penalties against adults who fail to safely secure firearms out of the reach of minors.
