The citizens of ND have never voted for or against the blue laws, so people can shop on Sundays. It has always been up to the legislative body. They think they have the citizens best interests in mind. Having a half a day off of work is very good but it should for everyone, not the selected few. Labor laws address time off and were created with the weekends in mind. This is big government telling only certain businesses when they can and cannot be open for business. It is bad legislation that cherry picks who can earn money that day. Plus, with a deficit in the budget, repealing this law could help ND with the much needed income. Learn more
