I support the efforts to expand energy sources for reliability. However, I don’t believe the Energy Bills and mandates as currently fashioned, are reasonably attainable because they are without adequate input from local stakeholders. It was apparent at a recent public meeting, that local energy providers did not have input regarding any potential impact before the vote was taken. Learn more
Meeting this challenge will require more than budgetary action. The issues surrounding new construction and rehabilitation that are holding back progress also must be addressed including local control and management of developable property resources, public utilities expansion, transportation connections, mortgage interest rates, material costs, and available skilled labor. The educational system improvements made and proposed to date help, but do not specify a curriculum focus including a vocational/technical track for student selection preparing them for the future placement in the building trades.
