I can never pretend to know what our soldiers experience during their years of service, or what it’s like to try to transition to a life back home. What I can do is promise to listen, learn, and fight as hard to support our veterans as they’ve fought for us. Learn more

Healthcare

I support the Health Over Profits for Everyone (HOPE) plan that the Michigan House Democrats just introduced, which aims to lower out-of-pocket prescription drug costs. Learn more

I support the bipartisan Safe Patient Care Act, which sets reasonable patient-to-nurse ratios, curbs forced overtime after long shifts, and enforces other measures that guarantee safe patient care. We must ensure that our nurses work in a safe, sustainable environment. Learn more

We must support women through their pregnancy financially and emotionally, and we must provide child care for their newborns and infants. I will invest in prenatal care to ensure fewer problems with pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. We need to support the mothers and children of Michigan. Learn more

Wages / Job Benefits

I opposed the effort to abolish minimum wage guarantees for construction and skilled trade workers who perform taxpayer-funded projects. Learn more

I support paid parental leave so that all parents can experience the joys of parenthood while having job security and a stable income. Learn more

I support efforts to close the wage gap, protect equal pay, and end discrimination in the workplace on the basis of sex or gender. Learn more

Priority #1 is repealing the so-called “Right to Work” law that was undemocratically enacted by the Snyder Administration in 2012. This law creates a system of freeloaders who enjoy the benefits of their union, without paying union dues. In fact, we must enact Fair Share legislation so that every worker is protected by their union and can benefit from collective bargaining and contract negotiations. Anything less than full-throated support of unions is damaging to the cause of an equitable economy. Learn more
