I support common-sense regulations governing firearms, but we must scrutinize any new laws to insure that they do not violate any of our constitutional rights and protections, including the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Article First, Section 15, of the Connecticut Constitution. As a State Representative, I would carefully consider any legislation in a spirit of common sense, in light of our constitutional rights, and with a keen view of the intended and unintended consequences of any new legislation. Cut the sales tax, gas and diesel fuel taxes, highway use tax, and the new "luxury" tax on restaurants and prepared foods that penalizes working parents who rely on prepared foods when they don't have time to cook. Learn more
