Get StartedThis is an emotionally charged issue and if I listened to political consultants, they would tell me to avoid talking about this issue altogether! I prefer to approach issues in a calm and direct manner with the ultimate goal to reach a solution. The pro-life/pro-choice debate typically results in both sides demanding that everyone pick between the rights of the unborn versus the rights of the mother. I am a lifelong Catholic and I’m pro-life and I care about the unborn and I care about anyone faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Learn more

Maintaining a ready and strong military is vital to our safety and freedom and we should provide our active military and veterans all the support they need and deserve. Preparing our young to be productive and independent citizens should be a top priority in Alabama. Strong education also makes economic sense, employers are attracted to areas that place a high priority on public education. The 2020 State budget for education is the largest in history at $7.1 billion. The budget includes a four percent (4%) raise for education workers and it adds 164 new pre-K classrooms. I am grateful to our State Representatives and Governor for making education a priority in the 2020 budget. Learn more
A very high priority issue for me personally is demanding that Alabama Power Company immediately initiate the moving of their coal ash pond at Plant Barry in Mobile County, approximately 25 miles north of Mobile Bay. Coal ash is the waste created by burning coal for electricity, it contains dangerous heavy metals including arsenic, mercury, and lead. Learn more

I’ve experienced some serious health challenges in my life. In 2008 our family was within thirty days of losing our family health insurance so I know what It is like to live ‘on the edge’ of having no health insurance coverage. I am fortunate now to have Medicare coverage with a private carrier behind it. I am not in favor of a single payer, ‘Medicare for all’ approach, too many people are happy with their current private insurance and they should not be forced to give that up!. Learn more
Citizens in our area should not be burdened with tolls. Many people in the Gulf Coast area live, work, and travel between Mobile and Baldwin Counties day to day, this is really one large metropolitan area. During the summer months and other peak travel times, Interstate 10 is overburdened and often comes to a standstill. Learn more
