We need our constituents to be able to not only understand what is happening in their community, state and country, but to be able to communicate their needs as well. Learn more

We must create an effective system where career training and technical education training is available to all in the public school system. We need to provide more resources for at-risk students. Learn more

I support the expansion of subsidized summer educational programs in order to ease the financial burden on low income parents during the summer months. Education and students should be our number one priority. Learn more

We can all agree the need to continually keep our environment healthy; we need to all strive to be more of a steward, beginning with the air we breathe. Learn more

We need to fund these areas from providing strong support for children prior to their attending schools, to assuring our teachers are well trained and well respected, to developing and providing world-class coherent instructional systems set to global standards so our children have the opportunity to compete in a global market. We also need to look into how and what we teach – things have changed and educating our children needs to change with it. Maryland has led the way in the past with regard to our statewide public education system, and we must rededicate ourselves to that task. Learn more

I believe we need to leave it up to the various counties to create their own school calendar. Learn more

While I fully support the rights of parents to choose private and parochial schools, I believe that they should remain privately funded. Learn more

Environment / Energy

I want to make sure we do all of that! I believe we must do all we can to protect our waterways and natural areas. Learn more

We need to nurture and help family farms to be successful while maintaining an environmental balance. It is being done and can continue to be done with proper funding. Learn more

A healthy environment is a growing environment. If the environment is healthy, we can grow our counties, our economics, our farms and most of all, our children’s future. Learn more

We have moved past coal burning and have and can move further into sustainable clean energy. Learn more

We need to provide farmers with funds and tools to help offset the cost of conservation practices to reduce pollution and improve the water quality and still remain profitable, as they have an important role in our economy, culture and future. Learn more

Planting trees is one of the most cost-effective and successful solutions to reduce pollution in urban and suburban areas, prevent run-off and helping to keep local waterways clean since trees can thrive in all locations. Learn more

We should be positioning Maryland as a clean energy leader by investing in training for good, clean energy jobs with livable wages. Our goal should be a Maryland with 100% clean energy. Learn more

Healthcare

We all know eating right, exercising and socializing with others help to maintain one’s health, both physically and emotionally, however, with the obesity rate we see in Maryland and specifically in our own counties, daily health habits need to be addressed. Learn more

We must do more to make access to mental health services more affordable for all Marylanders. Learn more

To foster a healthy population, one must have availability to affordable health care. Learn more

Taxes / Budget

We need to continue with tax incentives to help these farmers continue their march for a cleaner bay. Learn more
